Storm Chasing!
By · CommentsHave you ever tried to chase a storm? We did earlier this week and it’s not as easy as you think!
My friend, Joe watched the radar and satellite storm patterns all day. He decided where the best chance to photograph lightning was…and we headed out. We drove out on the Arizona Strip for several hours. We found lots of gorgeous clouds and a remote, run-down cabin….my daughter even caught a horny toad (we did let it go after we took its pic). We saw huge cloud bursts and “super cells” (I think that’s what Joe called them.)But we didn’t see any LIGHTNING!
After failing to get what we came after we were rewarded with a gorgeous sunset. Even though we didn’t get the photos we wanted, we did get a taste of overwhelming solitude. Its amazing how being so far from everything can calm your soul and help you see life from a different perspective. I am thankful we didn’t get what we wanted…..we got what we NEEDED
!
Here is a pic Joe took of me enjoying the last sliver of sunset.
And a photo I took of a windmill…from the window of a moving pickup
Southern Utah / AZ Strip Location Scouting trip
By · CommentsLast weekend we went scouting for photo locations. It was stormy and sometimes raining…lots of lightning ….but we had a nice drive. Here’s a pic of my daughter next to a field of wild flowers…
I don’t know what they are called but they are 3 to 5 feet tall.
I don’t know why but this is posting the photos out of order! Very frustrating!
OSAKA Japanese Bistro – St. George, Utah
By · CommentsThe food is extremely fresh, especially the sushi and sashimi! ( The best I have had this far inland!) Service is great and prices are very low considering the high quality. I had the chicken teriyaki with the california roll. The tempura veggies on the side were perfectly fried…not oily and just the right amount of crisp… mmmm mmmm. My entire lunch was just under $10! :0
P.S. Sorry about the pic quality…. it was taken with my palm pre cell phone. (I am getting a EVO soon, 8 megapixels will be much better! Hurry up Darren at Sprint….I m waiting!!!!)
My dream Job – Food Critic
By · CommentsThose who know me well know about my passion for food. My dream job would be traveling around the world and sampling the food as a food critic or travel writer. Mmmmm! Just thinking of it makes me salivate……
Well since that’s not in the cards for me right now, I try to live my dream by reviewing local food here on my blog. (Hey, it gives me an excuse to try all of the new places
around here.)
Here’s an adorable little boy I had the opportunity to photograph this morning. He was so sweet and very patient with us! I sure loved working with him! More pics to come….
